Chile tours

Our Chile tours are short bite-size travel experiences lasting 2-6 days. By stringing your selected tours together, you can build your own Chile and Argentina trip. If you’d rather leave the planning work to us, take a look at our Argentina holidays where we’ve pieced together a number of mini adventure tours to form a longer holiday.

Once you’ve selected your chosen Chile tours, simply fill in the quote request form or give one of our friendly Chile Travel Specialists a call on 01273 322 380 and we’ll send you a no-obligation quote, along with your flights if necessary. Our Argentina travel specialists know the country well and will be on hand to help you plan your trip.

From May – September the weather in Patagonia can be cold, wet and windy so it’s better to stick to central and northern areas at this time.

Prices below are valid until the 30th September 2013 and are based on two people travelling and exclude international flights. Prices for departures beyond this date and for international flights are available on request. For departures during peak seasons (e.g. Easter, summer holidays, Christmas and New Year) supplements may apply.

The driest desert on earth isn't in Africa, it's here in Chile! It basically never rains here. The Atacama Desert is a surreal, desolate expanse that stretches along the coast of northern Chile.  You'll begin your tour in San Pedro de Atacama, a cheerful little town on the edge of the desert. The atmosphere is surreal but beautiful; huge expanses of nothingness, jagged rock formations and tiny settlements in the middle of the salt plains. You'll spend two nights in San Pedro and in the afternoon you’ll travel into the Atacama Desert to see the sunset and moonrise in the Valley of the Moon.

Chile tours Zigzagging through volcano valleys

Duration: 6 days/ 5 nights
Price: £695 per person - based on two people
Departure: Daily
Route: Temuco - Pucon - Puyehue - Puerto Varas or vice versa
Long and narrow are the two words most frequently used to describe Chile's shape and size. Many travellers book flights to travel Chile's large distances. It's a shame really, because Chile's landscape is well worth a road trip. Central Chile has very reasonable roads and plenty of road signs to help you find your way. Forget about the Panamerican Highway; follow narrow winding roads past volcano peaks and vast still lakes instead. We'll take you hiking across hardened lava and to top it all off, you'll sleep on a mountaintop overlooking a lake and a volcano.

After spending the night in nearby Puerto Varas you'll travel by land and water through the oldest National Park in South America into Argentina. If you're planning on staying in Chile instead of crossing the border, you'll be transferred back to Puerto Montt and spend another night in Puerto Varas.

Chile tours Penguins at the edge of the world

Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
Price: £198 per person - based on 2 people sharing
Departure: Daily
Route: Punta Arenas
This Chile tour will take you to the southernmost tip of Chilean Patagonia, where once sheep ranchers and sailors roamed. Punta Arenas is a surprisingly lively place with the rugged atmosphere of a remote sea port, but also brightly coloured houses, busy streets, leafy parks and a fascinating history. You'll spend two nights in Punta Arenas and go on a boat trip along the Strait of Magellan to the penguin island to see a huge colony of Magellanic penguins. This is one of the few Chile tours where you'll get the chance to see the wildlife up close. The penguins will come right up to you, and it's fascinating to see them in their natural environment.
