Anna de HooSales SupervisorStunning Patagonian views, juicy steaks as big as your plate and vibrant tango in Buenos Aires; these are just a few reasons why I love Argentina, not to mention the passion and warmth of the Argentineans-it’s so infectious that you can’t help but join them! One of my personal highlights of travelling in Argentina was a trek through the Torres del Paine Park (despite the fact that I forgot my walking shoes and had to make do with my trainers- not recommended!) The weather continued to change during those five days on foot, but so did the scenery and it felt as though each time I turned a corner, I was rewarded with another new, breathtaking view. One experience that I would definitely recommend to first time travellers in Argentina is a sailing trip amongst the mighty glaciers, complete with an trek over the icy landscape. For me, there's nothing more exciting than walking over a 97 square mile formation of ice. I’m already dreaming of my next Argentina holiday where I’d like to discover the northern region of Salta before taking a trip over to Chile to explore the Atacama Desert which is the driest desert in the world. |

Ceri JonesArgentina travel specialistI was actually travelling in Brazil when I first set foot on Argentinian soil at Iguazu Falls, and was blown away by the seemingly unending cascades- an absolute must see. I vowed to return and in 2006 I spent 6 weeks backpacking around Argentina and Chile, long enough to develop an unfaltering taste for red wine!Apart from Buenos Aires, my best memories are experiencing the unexpected in Ushuaia, the world’s southernmost city. I just loved seeing the penguins hatching out of their eggs at Punta Tombo and visiting the Welsh speaking colonies in Puerto Madryn. Travelling through the Andes into Santiago was stunning but my real highlight in Chile was trekking in the Torres del Paine NP and wandering up and down on the funiculars in Valparaiso. When I return I want to spend some time with some real life gauchos and visit the Atacama Desert, all washed down with some vino tinto of course. |
Haydn WrathManaging DirectorArgentina Travel Plan is run by Haydn Wrath.I left the University of East Anglia in 1984 and escaped what seemed a very grim England by spending the rest of the 1980s travelling and working round the world. During this time I put in some usual stints as an English teacher in Tokyo, a landscape gardener in Sydney and a tarmac layer's assistant in Alaska. In 1990, I joined Bridge the World Travel Centre in London as manager of the World-wide department, where I was able to put my degree in Politics and Philosophy to good use! |
